LO HAZE

Lo Haze, born out of digital airwaves via social media, rediscovered their native roots in the recesses of Northeast Los Angeles amidst a landscape of transient bodies and aloof vibes. Taking inspiration from the 90s riot grrrl punk movement and contemporary perspectives on existentialism, they have crafted a collection of songs that explore the dichotomy between a superficially seductive environment and the psychological turmoil of human existence. LA is the crown jewel for artists seeking to both escape and recreate reality. Desperation and isolation become the catalyst for connection and creation, and ultimately, love for others and for oneself. 

A sonic concoction of lush and hazey chords create the quintessential landscape for the listener to unwittingly release tension and concede to familiarity, much like the comforts provided by LA sunsets and palm trees floating in the distance. Guitar and bass melodies are meticulously written, by Stephanie Guerra and Daniella Lollie, to weave in and out of each other, alongside Amanda Erwin's free-flowing percussive rhythms, all reflecting and embodying a dialogue between femininity and masculinity. Neither roles are clearly defined throughout, as grainy and gritty effects are treated with soothing vocals, and visa versa. Instrumentation becomes a divisive tool for contrast with lyrics that often pose a question of integrity and intention.
